    <title>Silva 3.0 beta Released</title>

      <div>Infrae is thrilled to announce the beta release of Silva 3.0. This major new version sports a completely rebuilt and state-of-the-art user interface. It’s entirely Ajax-driven and much more userfriendly, responsive, and performant. Silva 3.0 also includes a new visual editor running on top of a new Silva Document. For site managers, the Code Sources have been refactored to use references and are maintainable on the file system. Silva News Network has been refactored as well to use the new visual editor.

      <div>Today there was a new release of Zope 2.12 and 2.13, fixing a security issue that could let people execute arbitrary code on the filesystem from any Zope 2 application without authentication. The security issue does not affect Zope 2.11 and so does not affect Silva 2.2 or before. Only Silva 2.3 and the 3.0 alphas are affected.

      <div>Infrae is pleased to announce the final
release of Silva 2.3. This release contains a gamut of new features for
users, system administrators, and developers. The most important changes for users are support for mobile skins based on browser detection, and a robust reference management system that preserves links between resources. System administrators should note that Silva now supports <acronym title="Web Server Gateway Interface">WSGI</acronym> servers and this is the recommended way to run it. Developers will enjoy a more consistent API and vastly improved testing infrastructure.      </div>

      <div>Infrae is pleased to announce the release of Mobi 1.0, a set of libraries and <acronym title="Web Server Gateway Interface">WSGI</acronym> components that
interact between a webserver and applications which make mobile data
available. Mobi detects the user agent header in web requests. If it’s
a mobile phone ‘<acronym title="User Agent">UA</acronym>’ then Mobi categorizes it into one of three device
types. The cellphone category is added to the request and
the receiving application can decide how to present its content.      </div>

2.2.4b1dev. This makes it possible to define upgrade steps between
alpha, beta, and minor versions. As upgrade actions could be needed in
service_extensions for those version upgrades as well.
